About Us
Trakehner Sires International was started in 2003 by the US based breeding operation Starry Night Trakehners (operated by Terri Sikora in Fort Lupton, CO) and German-based Teto Trakehners (Dr. Klaus Engelhardt in Waldmohr, Germany). The frozen semen program, although at this point focused on importation of European stallions, intends to become a valuable gene reserve for the breeds worldwide, as there are many lines still active in e.g. North America that would eventually be highly important and interesting for European breeders as well. A good example are the most recent approvals of the ATA Grand Prix dressage stallion Leonidas *Pg* and the Grand Prix show jumper Special Memories *Pg* for the German Trakehner breed. This will hopefully serve as a role model for the years to come.

Other Warmblood breeds
No matter which equestrian sport you prefer, you can be sure that the influence of Trakehners is not far away. The Trakehner always was and always will be the prime source of refinement, intelligence and ridability for most known European warmblood breeds. In recent years, the influence increased dramatically. Hanoverian champions like His Highness or Hotline, Oldenburg champions like Don Kennedy, outstanding sport horses like Bonaparte/H. Kemmer or Matine/HA. Helgestrad and many more carry 50% or more Trakehner blood. Trakehner blood dominated the 2005 Dressage Bundeschampionat like never before and the list can be continued. Contact us, if you're interested in adding some of that impeccable influence to your warmblood breeding program!

Future Goals
While we are still building our little operation, we hope to offer an interesting and valuable service to our customers and will always be a good source for stallion information not only regarding German based sires. We invite ATA stallion owners to participate in our programs such as "Featured ATA Trakehner". Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
